for $1 trillion budget spirit united states senate. have you as her this guy named harry reid in the senate? i take that as a yes. they have not bothered to pass a budget in three years. we have this law that says every year congress, by april 15 which is a tax day for every american, it is a tax day for congress. haven't not doing it for three years. this is not governing. this is kicking in the can. this is blaming other people. this is not responsibility. we have got to get this budget under control or else we will end up just like europe. if you practic european economics, you get european results. the last thing, guess what. most of our jobs, they come from businesses like this. they come from successful small businesses. we need to champion small businesses. you know what? when people are successful in businesses, that is a good thing. that is nothing to be ashamed of. that is a good thing. take a look at the peter built trucks, parts, and equipment company. the 67 employees here. this business pays their taxes as individuals. he

in the days and months following the 9/11 attacks on the united states. it was a very clear and focused mission to go after those who planned and executed that attack. and i believe that our brave men and women who went to afghanistan very capably fulfilled that mission frankly and fairly in short order. i was in afghanistan in august of 2010 in kabul and bagram air force base and met with wisconsin soldiers and folks in the military from the senior ranks to the -- to those coming back from forward operating bases. you would be so proud of those men and women. but this nation building mission is not the one that was authorized and it's now time for them to come home. >> governor thompson? >> my opponent just, i think, misstated. she said she voted for the sanctions and against iran. she voted against the sanctions in 2006, 2009, and 2010, and in august voted for them because she was running for the united states senate. complete change of heart. in regards to afghanistan, ladies and gentlemen, i got my training from colin powell. he always taught me this.

it's the fifth highest in the entire united states. my institute just put out a recent study in your thumb drive and you'll see that every part of the state, every income group, every job classification, every age and every age category has been hit hard by this recession. the structural factor that's i just eluded to, combined with the problems of charlotte's financial sector, you know what happened with wachovia and wells-fargo and industry of the state. and ironically continuing robust migration have meant the labor market in north carolina has been tremendously stressed over the last few years. especially since it never recovered from the 2001 recession. the most stunning finding in the study we completed, is that since 2000, north carolina has added about 0.3% jobs while the state as a whole has gained almost 20% in population. this is the economic backdrop in the south for the fall election in my view. one way or another if the south is going to emerge economically out of this age of rapid technological change and globalization,

my name a jonathan dine and i'm a libertarian candidate for the united states senate. like many of you, i'm tired of the constant fighting of the republicans and democrats. beating the other team has become more important. america is now on the verge of a financial collapse and both parties are to blame with their wreckless tax, borrow and spend policies. neither party seriously about balancing the budget or lowering your taxes or restoring your personal freedom. for as long as i can remember, republican and democrat politicians offering up solutions. higher and higher taxes. enough is enough. as a libertarian senator, i will stand up for your personal freedom, i'm socially accepting and tolerance. i'm also fiscalally responsible. i'm tired of the wreckless spending and the wreckless earmarks as your senator, i will vote no to wreckless spending, vote no to any legislation where spending exceeds revenue. i will advocate on the part of the balanced budget amendment. the government should live within its means just like the people of missouri. supporting my candidacy mea
